What is a Hydro Jetter?
It is also known as a Sewer jetter, or high pressure “water jetter”.
They are powerful drain cleaning machines that use high-pressure water to clear obstructions in residential and commercial drain pipes as well as municipal sewer systems.
The jetter consists of a large tank of water, a pump, a motor or engine, a hose reel, and a special high-pressure hose. Various special high-strength nozzles, allows the water in the hose to spray out of the nozzle at different pressurized rates.
What is Hydro Jetting?
Hydro Jetting is a process in which your sewer pipes are scoured by streams of high-pressure water shooting out of different nozzles.
These high-pressure streams are strong enough to cut through and clear out most any debris in your sewer lines. It’s the most effective method of residential drain and sewer cleaning available.
Hydro Jetting is typically done through an opening called a cleanout, which is an opening present in most every plumbing system and designed to allow us to easily "clean out" debris and other clogs.
It is superior to conventional methods, such as pipe snaking, due to the ability to remove hair, soap, grease, mineral deposits and small roots that have grown into your pipes.
Hydro Jetting restores your pipe to “like new” condition, in most cases and is far better than just snaking.
How does Hydro Jetting work?
Hydro Jetting works through a "cleanout" opening, the opening that exists in all plumbing systems. This opening is for the easy clean out and removal of debris and other types of clogs.
The Electric Eel Type Machines
The sectional cable machine offers several key advantages in comparison to a drum-style drain cleaner.
First, the sectional cable machine allows for 500 RPM cable rotation, twice that of most drum machines. A major benefit of this is that the higher RPM offers better cleaning power for tough stoppages, such as roots.
Another benefit, is that a drum-type machine has a fixed capacity of cable length typically 100 feet or less. The sectional machine can clean to distances in excess of 200 feet.
A third benefit of the sectional cable drain cleaners comes from a completely adjustable clutch feature you will find on a professional quality machine. The clutch protects the cable from overload when a tough stoppage is encountered.
A fourth, and sometimes overlooked benefit, is that a drum-type machine has a fixed capacity of cable length typically 100 feet or less. The sectional machine can clean to distances in excess of 200 feet.
These sectional machines are also very light weight so easy to transport and easy to use in restricted areas like crawl spaces and basement.
